ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Andrea Baquero is a professional musician and certified yoga instructor with extensive training in Ayurveda, breathwork, and sound healing. She studied yoga and Ayurveda in India, the U.S and South America, grounding her studies in traditional Eastern wisdom and in a scientific western approach to these practices. As a certified vibroacoustic and focalizing therapist, mindset management coach, and Reiki practitioner, Andrea integrates movement, mindfulness, and nourishing Ayurvedic recipes to support balance and harmony in everyday life.
Vanessa Sossa is passionate about empowering individuals and communities to embrace healthier, more compassionate, and more sustainable lifestyles. With a background in psychology and experience in culinary arts, she highlights the transformative power of plant- based diets on both physical and mental well-being. As Food for Life instructor, Vanessa works with diverse communities, including Spanish-speaking populations in New York City and beyond. She focuses on critical health concerns like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity, offering an accessible and culturally tailored approach to a whole food, plant-based lifestyle.
As the founder of AlegrΓa Vegana and creator of La Bakeria by AlegrΓa Vegana, the first vegan Colombian bakery in the U.S., Vanessa celebrates plant-based cuisine while honoring her cultural roots. Through innovative workshops, inspiring recipes, and tailored approaches, she helps others explore the connections between food, health, and sustainability.
